The lights don't go down and the music doesn't start until after 12 noon, even though they open at 11. Even then the pickings are slim with not much on stage until after 1 or 2 o'clock. The club is going to close sometime next year so no one seems to making a lot of effort. Yet most of the dancers at the club were told it was a case of "eminent domain". I see no mention of that in the article. Is the owner trying to make it seem to the employees like he had no say in this club's closing? That way he's not the bad guy putting people out of work. If that is the case then he is a lying sack of shit. He also isn't saying what a PITA it is managing people (just it's a 7 day/week job) and that not having to do that probably takes 30 points off the blood pressure of whoever's responsible of running the place. Then there's the estate tax reform that the Obama nation will kill off making passing the estate to the family even more difficult. Holding onto illiquid assets like real estate and businesses make paying the Feds difficult and turning the property into a cash cow or cashing out makes sense. Other than that, the last few times I've been at the WG it seems more customers are there and more dancers have been there. As far as Sienna, she is still a rarity, but still looks good. Darth, guess you don't get in there much or you are an early guy. Bathroom attendant has been there well over a year. As far as the dance prices, i don't think they were ever actually $20. That is what the girls were able to charge and get away with. Has anyone ever asked management how much are the dances? I heard CJ working a customer awhile back or visa versa, she offered 2 for $30 but he got 2 for $20. I have my few that I enjoy dancing with and i give a good tip along with the over priced dances. If any of you don't like the prices now is the time to do something about it. The club doesn't charge the girls per dance like other clubs do. It is completely up to the girl what she wants to charge. So now is the time to make that $10 dance offer. Make them work for the extra tip. The top girls wont go for it at first but if we stick to our guns and the top girls are seeing all the other girls getting dances they'll have to break sooner or later. Sorry girls. Every club has been hit hard in this economy. I rotate thru 3 or 4 clubs regularly in the LAX area and they are all hurting, so I don't know where these girls can go - maybe the Rhino down in Torrance? It's probably just as bad there. The Goose's unfortunate recent "event" certainly hasn't helped things any. Often the more the girls chase the by jumping from club to club, the more they actually lose out in the long run. Some of the smarter clubs are starting to offer dance specials and incentives to get more customers in the door. A certain nearby club started doing this and it sure got MY attention. In these economic times, extra efforts to appease the customers can make the difference in whether you stay in business or not. I don't see the Goose going out of business anytime soon as long as the liquor flows, but if nothing changes there I can see them cutting back on their hours. Gone are the days of sending someone in early to the Goose on Fridays to get a table before the rest of crew got off from work so we can enjoy the afternoon with buddies and the girls. Now you can walk in on Friday at 4pm and get a chair anywhere in the club which was never the case a few years ago. I remembered a few years ago some high end girls came into the club drove the price up from $10 to $20 so quickly that many season veterans of the club could not adjust to the prices and slowly began to leave. Even the aerospace guys who use to take up 1/3 of the club did not show up this last Friday before the annual holiday shutdown anymore. These high end girls are not even working in the club anymore because of the decline in patrons. The afternoon partying is shorter then in years past because of the increase in dance prices and drinks. A few years ago the dances use to be ($10) which could take a party with some friends into the late evening. Now with the 100% markup ($20) the party is half as long and hitting the ATM is a bit more frequent. I know the girls are struggling because I am beginning to see two for ($20) being marketed more and more by girls at the Goose. I heard at one time dances were $5.00 but that was before my time. Calendar night this past year was the last time I saw standing room only which brought back some fond memories of this club. The decline in patrons will continue as the prices increase and the song time decrease below the 2 minute mark. By the numbers: Old days (3 minute dances a few years ago) $10 X (60 min/3 min) = $200 an hour if a girl is dancing the whole time Today rate (2 minute dances) $20 X (60 min/2 min) = $600 an hour if a girl is dancing the whole time (I can only imagine how much partying that went on when dances were $5.00 a dance.) It is very entertaining when they do something more then just a walk around the stage. Something a little different to mix it up for a change. That was Tao (miss Oct)with Marina. Joshlyn does the one armed push ups, thats her regular routine. That girl has some crazy moves, on the stage. Go Joshlyn. I had to leave early and didn't catch Marina and Tao's second show. I wanted to see Asia up there again too. Always a good sight. $20 per song can be a bit steep. Maybe they should do some two for one specials. As long as the girls are up for it. It might get more people into the dance arena. Happy Holidays Goose Ladies Date: 12/11/2008 1:26am Name: daddy_lows (1) Subject: Calendar Night 2008 I showed up late around 10:30pm but the parking lot was jammed still. Got the usual "We need to see some I.D." routine at the door and paid the $5 entrance to see a totally full club hopping. Lots of girls (apparently, some old-timers there claim they show up only on heavy nights), not being bothered too much by needy girls, and free fried goodies made for a good night. The Lakers game was being shown and the ownership left the TVs on so that was good. I really had a blast watching Marina (the slim Russian with the black hair) and some other punk-looking girl do a ten-minute routine onstage. I think it was their second performance of the night. The four bartenders keep the bar moving and their nice racks were icing on the cake. I'm really hooked on a girl named Renee so I was able to chill, hang out, and sip some coronas and rum and cokes enjoying the view. There was this ripped girl who did handstands and one-armed pushups. I don't recall any stripper doing those. I'm still disappointed that most of the girls don't do much onstage as a routine. I guess that's why I like Renee (she does the whole poledance swing upside down pineapple cake thing) though she is also a cutie and gives decent grindage though $20 a song is way way too much. I was talking to a regular who said in the good old days (I'm guessing pre 2000) there would be $5 dance specials and everyone was buying dances for everyone. Now he says it's too much and you really don't want to spend $20 for two minutes with a girl you don't know because it could be two minutes of hell. And rail_monkey, you're right, it WAS Sunshine. She was there tonight, too, but it was just way overcrowded and I was safe. Got me 2 calenders, too. Best night there. The old-timer said, "This is about the best it will ever be nowadays.
