I sat by the stage (girls on stage were pretty good, but the cutting of the songs here is ridiculous) for the rest of my stay to avoid being hounded by a fat brunette with a ton of tattoos (Courtney was the name I think). I dont know how many times I needed to say no for her to get the picture, but it was annoying to say the least. I know clubs are slow in these times and the ladies are hurting for dances, but no other dancers seemed anywhere near as desperate as this girl was. They hit the description right on the button. Just came back from lunch and had a great time All the girls were cool and the dances were hot. @40 bucks a pop it could get expensive so make sure you talk with the girls before to get that chemistry. We were also out numbered by the girls making all the attention on us. They were not pushy or asking for dances. Also we were not asked once to purchase them drinks!! Stayed for about 90 minutes and left after we ate! The main attraction here is the lap dances and the mileage is high, and during the day, can be off the charts. However, the songs are cut short, probably around 2-3 minutes depending on the time and DJ. Some of the dancers will automatically assume you want to do the $40 nude lap dances so you'll have to tell them if you only want the $20 topless dances. At $40 a song, test driving several dancers can get expensive very fast but worth the money if you find the right one. Victoria (I think) and Courtney. Victoria (I could be wrong about her name, but it started with a V) was dancing and is quite a looker. Nice big boobs. I was getting a drink at the bar when she came up to me and after some small talk, took me in the lap booth. I asked if there were any multi-song specials and she asked the DJ to do a 2 for 1. (Very cool!) Nice Lap, not very high mileage, but no complaints. After that, I sat down and Courtney came up and chatted me up. Offered me gum (cool points) and seemed pretty cool. After assuring me that I would get a much better lap from her, I agreed and was not dissapointed at all. 2 songs from her (at $40 a pop) was all my bank roll could afford that night, but well worth it. We chatted for a while after too and talked about the VIP room experience (I don't know if I am willing to drop 6 bills for that one.) However Courtney was totally the cat's meow and if I had it, I would do it in a second. Very cool chick. I boned out before the shift change was over, but got a nice eyefull of the girl dancing on stage before I headed out. Each visit brought several new faces. I think Kaylee was the only 1 there both Saturdays. She's not what I'd call NOT THIN, but neither anorexic thin. She does have a cute face, and an active hustle. Some names that were mentioned in qbg's 9-29 RC: Jasleen ( hot Latina, or Middle Easterner, semi- curly dark hair with nice bottom tan line contrast), Marilyn- shorter blonde, almost similar hair as Kaylee, very limber. I'm not great with names, I recall a tan, dark haired dancer, might have been Jesse ( began with a J) who said that she'd been dancing there a long time. To quickly recap the pros: More interactive stages than most other area clubs, could mostly be only one in alcove(privacy), some of the better laps I've had outside of COI (YMMV here), music/dj not too loud. Cons; Buy the lady a drink hustle (some dancer drinks are $20- large water, some $10), Waffle House style single toilet (not a true restroom,1 at a time, line often forms between it & DJ booth- "honey cup" in car a good idea), clipped songs. Money can go real fast here,($40 nude LD's), but no faster than some other area clubs. I would return again. I'll retract my previous negative review of Tanya's dances -- they're okay, better than okay for guys who like a tight grind and don't need much mileage otherwise. A/c was working but not overworking -- just about right. Lights were up somewhat in the alcoves. Dancer corps seemed particularly high-quality to me, as far as looks go. Plenty of PLs after 10. Over the past 3 years, after busts, and fake remodels and heavy turn-over, this club has become a total rip-off agency. In order for you to have the kind of fun you could have here a few years ago, you practically have to spend 5 times the dough. Back then, you still had to pay 300-400 to get a nice experience, Now you pay that and you get a half- ass experience. The dances are cut so short and the poor dancers are pushed to selling expensive drinks or pay for them so much that it kills the fun. I went to this place 2wice this month and the experience was terrible. Almost every dancer had to push for extra tips for things that were common place here like simple touching. The songs are like 60 seconds and by the time the dancer takes off any thing and settles down with you, half of the song is gone, any silly negotiation takes a whole song. I had a dance with a romanian girl during the day shift who was hussling so much, I feel like 3 songs were wasted on the simple negotiation. After 4 songs I paid $160 for a very mediocre experience. The songs are so short that you almost wished sometimes the dancer would shut up and not talk to you during the dance so you can focus on the mood. Back then, you could have a chat during the dance and laugh a little bit. i go to an SC to get dances and not to sit down and chat with the girls. i dont have the time. i usually have 30 minutes to spend at a club. I am the ideal customer. But here, it seems like you need to do all the chatting first and then go for the dance so the girl won't ask you your name, where you live, dada dada dah. The management has become SO GREEDY. It is disgusting. No wonder the place is empty during the day. They probably like it like that. For the uninitiated, parking has been OK for my late night visits, but I could see it being problematical for daytime, or early evening visits. This particular visit was lower key than prior visits on hustle factor (some dancers literally waited for customers at door immediately hitting them up, not so this time). As for LD's- I'm terrible with names, & can't make any connection with names posted by qbg (I'll try to remember to grab hotel pen/notepad with me next time). Anyway, 1st LD with a tan brunette was the best, with subsequent ones going downhill. A blonde was a good dance, but had a rank smelling pussy, and quit while the quitting was good. A fleshy buxom Latina who was seemingly freindly on the floor became 1 dimensional in the back. In between those, I eventually escaped a tiresome dancer whose conversation wasn't particularly coherent. This club seems like a SRI copycat, though not too many (thankfully) confusing btb 2fers, etc run- just straight occasional 2fers run. The waitress is often on you in a flash to hit you up for dancer drink- they can be as much as $20, so beware. Still, with clipped songs, drink hustle, I've had some good LD's here, and would consider returning. My favorites are two long-time SR habitues -- Diamond in the evening and Michelle in the days. Those two have given me the best laps I've gotten at the club in the past year. Ava can also give a good dance on the day shift, and Lexi is not bad either. Jennifer is okay, as is Mandy, and Mia is conservative but sweet. At night, Ashley can give a good dance but I've found her uneven. Stay away from Tanya, a thickly attractive blonde Russian who laps as if she's at the Jet. That's the sum total of my Silver Reign experience in the last few months. Many of the girls were complaining about it being too hot to give lap dances, and, with the lack of talent I decided to pass. Also, I did notice how empty the club was. I was there till about 11 and there were only about 5 other customers. I happen to run into Brittany and basically told her I was not interested in a dance. She was fairly pleasant and left me alone. It's a combination of a "one price fits all hours" approach, which has always left long spells of dead time, and the recession, which has deadened other clubs as well, and made this one deader. I've also heard the girls complaining about its begin hot in the club -- a/c on the blink, apparently -- but haven't experienced it myself in the several times I've been to the club in the last month. As for Brittany, I haven't had a problem with her. Maybe she knows I'm there for somebody in particular, not her anyway, so she doesn't bother. If a girl is all over me, I usually seek refuge at the tip rail. "Excuse me, I really want to catch this girl's act. Yeah, I know, I barfed the last time she took her clothes off, but I wanna give her another chance." If no one has been on stage, excuse yourself and ask the DJ to put someone on. But really, I've seen some of the characters this place used to hire, and if Brittany is the worst around right now, the club has gone uphill, not down. It used to be the sort of place you'd wanna go to relax, kick back, and party with some of the hottest girls in LA. Now? Not so much. I don't know what happened, whether it's the recession, or whether they've run off all the great girls, but this place SUCKS. I walked in on a weekday night, early evening, and there was NO ONE there. It was super hot inside the club, so hot that I was dripping sweat just sitting down. Not suprisingly, I didn't see any other customers, and the only girls I did see were laying down, looking as if they were napping in the far corner. Everything inside just looked a little more worn out, not as nice as it used to. But that's all just a side note. The real reason I will never come back to this club has to do with the first girl to approach me, a heavier set blonde by the name of Britany. First of all, I am not into big natural boobs at all, I'm not into blondes, and I'm not into heavier girls, and I tried to polietly tell her that in not so many words. But she didn't seem to get it, and she kept literally jumping on my lap, rubbing against me, grabbing me. She smelled like booze, she was super aggressive and wouldn't get off of me. I was extremely uncomfortable and when I didn't by her a drink, she still didn't get the hint and wouldn't leave me alone. When she finally got the hint I wasn't going to dance with her, she then proceeded to sit with me, not allowing any other of the girls working to come by. On top of all this, the only thing out of her mouth between begging for dances was insults to the other girls working, ranging from calling them "streetwalkers" to every other insult imaginable. Such a turn off. It was like she was convinced that if I didn't want dances from HER that it was her personal mission to make sure I didn't get dances from anyone else. After trying in vain to get the attention of a dancer I was attracted to, and failing, I left without spending anything. Here's the thing: I want to go into a club to RELAX. I don't want to go in to be mugged by unattractive, drunk, desparate girls, and I especially don't want to hear said girl trash talk everyone else for hours because she couldn't get me to spend money on her. I understand that it's been hard for the ladies lately and that the recession has made them more eager for dances, but when a customers walks in, it's so trashy and so unattractive to immediately mug him and then to act like a spoiled highschool kid when he doesn't get dances. I love the Silver Reign but after that incident, I won't be coming back. This place is going down hill and if they want to hire girls like her and want to let them behave in such annoying ways, I will take my money elseswheres. If I want to hear unattractive drunk girls complain and talk trash on each other, I'll stay at home and watch reality TV. If you do not find her, she has disobeyed the fundamental rule of stripper success -- keep a regular schedule -- and so doesn't deserve your money anyway. As I like to say, the one characteristic that my faves have in common is not looks, or mileage, it's that they show up for work. Date: 4/21/2009 8:31pm Name: qbg (2985) Subject: BE vs. SR SR is a nude club -- and a nude lap club. Topless dances (not always offered) are $20, nude $40. I don't know exactly what the club bite is, but it's not as bad as at the Bare. However, you do have a drink quota, I think it's $60 worth on weekend evenings -- you pay the club the difference if you don't make it. Club is smaller and, although semi-classy-looking in the public areas, is not as opulent as the Bare. Dancer quarters are tight and bare-bones. Girls seem to get along pretty well at this club. I haven't gotten the sense that this place is any worse than average in that respect. This can be a good club for you if you like to chat up the customers. That's another way in which it differs considerably from the Bare. Except at the busiest times, dancers tend to spend more time with a customer here. Money is highly variable. Club is often almost empty of guys, but gets pretty busy late on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays. PLs can drop some respectable change here. And you just don't know when the club is gonna get a visit by one of several rainmakers who spend four, sometimes five, figures' worth of . So you can make next to nothin' one night and over a thousand the next. You just have to be able to live with that kind of inconsistency. Finally, although the club is not as "liberal" as it used to be, and some mileage outliers have gotten fired, still, coming from the Bare, you'll probably have to step up your game a notch or two if you expect to do well at SR. If I were you, I'd give it a try. If it's not the right club for you, you'll find out pretty quick. But do try a late-week late night before you give up. But if you have lots of , disregard the preceding hints for economizing. This can be at least as good a place as any other club to spend money if you have it. Yes, there are some lookers, though I don't think the club is above average on that score. Certainly no BE or DVNH. But there's a nice selection and quite a few naturals -- more like DVI than SRI. Quantity can seem low if you're used to bigger clubs: Couple dozen on the busy nights, maybe 15 on the slower nights, half a dozen on day shift. Often very few between 7 and 9. But PL counts are typically well below those at other clubs, so the dancer:PL ratio tends to be favorable. Prices are $40 for nudes, $20 for topless, but the latter are not available on Wed thru Sat eves. Dances run 2:00 to 2:15, infrequent specials run around 3:30; specials don't apply to topless, or didn't used to, that may have changed. So, cost per minute before tip is about the highest around. What do you get for it? Well, laps are (still) pretty good. Better than elsewhere on the west side, though not comparable to, say, HT. Average $40 dance here is kinda like what you'd get from an above-average DVI dancer in the nude area. There's quite a bit of variation, of course, though not as much as at DVI. I kinda like the atmosphere here. I avoid "rush hour" (late Thu - Sat eves/nights). The club I see is small, laid back, one of the few clubs where the music is not too loud, it's easy to talk, and lots of girl will talk, and will hang for awhile. For a place to focus on a particular fave in the off-hours, this club can hardly be beat. If you want to compete in the Friday night meat market, you're on your own. I get enough conflict in my profession negotiating contracts with prima donnas who think that the sun revolves around them. I go to clubs to relax, not to go back to work negotiating. My nature in matters regarding gentlemen's clubs is that if I felt that I have not gotten a fair deal, I publicize that fact to other potential clients and let them make their own choices. I suppose that it's possible that the dancer was an innocent in all of this and that the DJ was just trying to boost up the revenue, but she was very quick to tell the bartender that no tip was necessary when I was asked what I wanted to add on as a tip to the dancer. At any rate, like I've said in all of my previous posts regarding my reconaissanace of SRWLA, the dances were outstanding. If I could figure out a way to get the dances in another venue and let the dancer keep all of the fee instead of giving the club a cut, I would be happy to do so and take the dancer out for a nice dinner, to boot. She was an outstanding, erotic fantasy. I will keep up the reviews, and encourage you to do the same. Actually, I have found that "mileage" success is a combination of both a modest investment of money and a serious investment of being a well scrubbed, well groomed, pleasantly-scented gentleman who treats dancers with respect and appreciation. Some dancers are trailer trash who can't handle this and there is nothing that you can do about this. Others, though, and I have dated a few, are only in the business because of some unfortunate or unusual personal circumstance and do appreciate the occasional patron who treats them like a lady instead of like an object. Um, yes, the club staff should be able to get the count right without correction from the customer. But when they get it wrong, it won't do you any harm and might help you out if you speak up. I have to admit that I haven't been to BE for some months, but I was able to achieve considerable "mileage" there. Things may have changed, I have heard that NFZ may now be in effect at BE, but have not verified personally. My "mileage" in VIP at SRVN was better than BE, but then, you have to go over the Sepulveda Pass to Van Nuys, which is discouraging if there is traffic. Jet Strip is the best combination of "mileage" and mileage for me. I have been very successful there, particularly in Exec VIP, which is admitedly pricey. I chose the entertainer carefully, though, and always leave with a smile. I am considering trying Rio, which is reasonably close to LAX if you take the 105. Have you been there, if so, any advice? I did two regular dances before the rope was closed (I was paying attention, despite considerable distraction), and then did what I believed to be a 15 VIP before which the dancer asked the DJ to let her know when the last dance was. The DJ audibly did so. When I got to the bar to settle up, the dancer, after "consultation" with the DJ, initially priced the session at 24 dances. That having been said, the dances were fantastic, but that may have just been a function of me getting along with that particular dancer and her preferred style. It's a good location for me, I like the layout and, at the end of the day, my VIP experience, except for the financial part of it, was outstanding. Most girls will play the dance count straight, but there are a few who will, uh, enhance the tally, sometimes after "checking with the DJ" or floater to make sure she's got the count "right." I mean, if you had your choice, you'd take the time, right, because who knows how long a dance will be? My impressions: The Good Small place, pretty good location in WLA and fairly nice decor, but also very small. There were only five dancers or so, and the dancers outnumbered the clients at the time. The dancer I spent some time with, Michelle, was very, very erotic, asking what I liked, telling me what she liked, and then getting to business. An Academy Award fantasy performance, to be sure. The club struck me as VHM, with a UHM possiblity with the right dancer in VIP. The Bad Doesn't take American Express, my card of choice. What upscale establishment in LA won't accept a Platinum card? There is a small sign out front stating this, but for those of you who haven't tried the club yet, forewarned is forearmed. There is a distinctive hustle attitude, as well. One particular aspect of this club that I don't like is a tendancy toward dance inflation. When quoted a firm fixed price for a specific number of dances in VIP and having the dancer tell the DJ "let me know when the last dance is over," I don't expect the number of dances, at $40 a pop, to be inflated by 40% (including the two that I did before the VIP rope was closed, yes, dear, I was counting). Because of these two factors, I won't be returning. Sorry, Michelle. If you want to be thrifty, you can save yourself $10 at the door in the evening ($5 days) if you present the coupon you can print out at http://www.silverreign.net. Also, be aware that some dancer drinks run $20 or more (standard sodas, water are $10). If you like the looks of the Ecstasy dancers, as I suspect most guys would, you'll probably be disappointed in the girls at Silver Reign, as at most other places. I'd rate SRWLA about average for dancer looks. Top clubs on the west side for looks are 4Play and Bare Elegance. Neither has mileage to speak of, though you can get a decent dance at BE. Mileage at Silver Reign and Ecstasy is, as far as I could tell from my visits to Ecstasy, roughly comparable, both in average and variance. Well, you might do better at the low end at SR, I think, if you stick to the nude area. I can't tell you much about tipping, because I'm a lousy tipper. You can get a good dance for a modest tip.
