... It's hard to believe that it's been 12 years since the last Rambleday. Rambling is a fine art and I haven't gotten any better at it in the last 12 years.

... Zbone.com is fun again for me. It's been a while since I've had fun on my own website. Yes, there the occasional bug to fix, or some African or Chinese spammer/hacker trying to mess up our fun. But for the most part, it's been a very positive experience for me. What I was missing was the feeling of a community again. It doesn't hurt that hot dancers can now post pictures.

... I think I've reverted back to my origins with my strip club outings. I like just sitting back and watching the stage show from far away. I've burned out on lap dances. Maybe I'll go through my entire cycle again from scratch. On second thought, I don't think I can survive another round.

... All this talk of clubs closing has made me think about the economy. Back in 2006 or so, I noticed that many dancers that I knew were getting mortgages without even having to prove they had a job. About 4 dancers I knew even had multiple mortgages and one girl had 3 homes and one had 4 homes. They told me the brokers filled out the applications for them and lied about their income. I remember being asked if I needed a mortgage from players many times playing poker at casinos. I should have been able to see the mortgage collapse coming a mile away.

... Speaking of collapses, I've been around the industry long enough to see that most boob jobs turn into weird shapes, or simply break over a long period of time. With only a few exceptions, after about 10 years, almost all boob jobs go south. Then the options are, either to re-do the boob job, remove it and have pan cake flaps, or do nothing. Most usually pick the first option. I haven't been around long enough to see what happens after the second 10 years. I'm guessing it's not good.

... Recently, I was told that people who are involved in serious pole dancing competitions do not want the competition associated with strip clubs or strippers in any way. Apparently, many are ex-professional dancers who have never stripped and they do not want to be associated with the adult industry. They are also trying to legitimize their sport so that it can be in the Olympics or shown on network TV. Maybe I'm biased but this rubs me the wrong way somehow.

... It's amazing how people are so against anything to do with strip clubs. A nearby church is protesting the opening of a new nude club in Torrance. Never mind that there is already a topless club near the church. Forget that the new club had to be approved by the city and get all its permits before opening. Church members are vowing that they will picket the club when it opens. When religious people picketed Imperial Showgirls a few years ago, they even brought their kids with them. Quality time with your kids. That's what going to church is all about.

... It's great that some people have so much free time that they can picket a strip club. If I had that much free time, I could make enough money to open up a strip club. Maybe I could be lucky enough to get a church to picket my club so that I can get free advertisement on TV that would normally cost tens of thousands of dollars. Or maybe I could pay the church directly to picket my club. Then the church makes money, and I get free advertisement on TV. Win-Win.

... Instead of picketing strip clubs in my free time, I'd rather spend it inside the club. It's much more fun that way. I wonder if the picketers have ever stepped foot in a club? How would they know what to picket against if they've never been? For all they know, we could be having bible study with the dancers.
... Anyone know of SC made from closed down churches? Ive heard of clubs and restaurants, but not SCs.
... I don't get the SCs that serve full blown meals. The last thing I'd want to do is get a dance after eating so much. I'd rather go to hooters, since I am not getting a dance after eating a full meal.
... I also don't get paying for dances only to eat pussy. Your the one paying, shouldn't you be getting gratified instead of you gratifying the dancer? Unless you get orgasms from your mouth like that porno in the 70s, why would you do it?
... I do like getting dances from porn stars or former porn stars. It's almost like a dream cum true. But fuck, if they aren't a regular dancer, a dance is . I'd rather spend that on rounds with my ATF, since I know the dance will be good!
... where was I going with this? oh yeah... it's a ramble....

. . . I am so pleased that there are rambles on this site -- for two reasons.  First, it was nice to see a respected PL tradition honored.  Second, if I didn't have these examples to follow I would have put the dots on the wrong end of the paragraph.  Like so . . .

. . . I feel the world is passing me by.  As for my co-ramblers, any of you want to take a guess at our median age?  The young folks aren't rambling.  They're on their Twitterers, or whatever the thing is that makes a Tweet, doing the opposite of rambling.

. . . Another marker of age:  I'm a little concerned about the tattoo issue.  Not like the fake boobs . . . not how bad they're gonna look in ten years, but how bad they look right now.  Of course, I do appreciate any steps dancers take that make it easier for me to rule them off my dance card . . . like approaching me as soon as I walk in, or hanging little metal "keep off" rings and don't-dads on their nipples, or leaving their thong on during their stage show  . . . but they're beginning to max out.  The dance card winds up empty.  I haven't been to a club since last year.  (Okay, Dec. 30.)

. . . But I cannot escape Lapland.  I was at Ikea recently, looking for CD shelves, when I was distracted by the pots and pans.  Among the choices:  Favorit and Skanka.

. . . But there you go -- CD shelves.  Who still buys CDs?  Speaking of music:  Two songs apropos for an SC stage show but that I haven't heard in a club and doubt I ever will:  "Fembot" and "Don't Fucking Tell Me What to Do" by Robyn from her Body Talk CD.  url?  heh-heh.

. . . My drinking's killing me.  Have you heard the latest?  Fruit juice is bad for you.  Fortunately, I can't get that in most clubs.  I just keep it simple:  Coke or Sprite.  As I say, too many choices as it is.  The clubs do try to simplify things with their mandatory minimums.  Does Ecstasy in Santa Ana still insist on popping off the tops of both drinks they make you buy?

. . . Keep up with the world?  I can't even keep up with my ATF.  I don't see her on any recent RTRC.  Could she have quit?  This could throw my whole clubbing year into a cock hat.  Is there a stripper out there who would like to sell me some dances?  Like 50 or so ;) ? . . .  (No, not you.)

. . . I do like the looks of that girl Cami who is pimping herself on this site.  Fortunately, I take it she works at one of those low-mileage Camelot clubs, which is going to save me some money.  I'd just as soon patronize the low-mileage clubs closer to home.

. . . History:  I enjoy reading science-fiction books whose future is our present day.   In 1968, John Brunner in Stand on Zanzibar predicted that in 2010, all the sexiest chicks would be in the employ of large companies for the carnal entertainment of their workforce.  It appears this may have come to pass.  At least, I'm not seeing them in the clubs.  (I'm still looking though.)

. . . I like this new version of the site.  Not being a Facebook user, I've had a bit of a learning curve, and I still don't really understand a lot of this.  I'm dutifully okaying all my friend requests, even though I have no idea what a "friend" is or does.  A young dancer friend tried to explain it to me.  It didn't make any sense.  I don't know if that's because her explanation made no sense or because the concept makes no sense.

. . . The Future:  Goon Squad again:  "Rebecca was an academic star.  Her new book was on the phenomenon of word casings, a term she'd invented for words that no longer had any meaning outside quotation marks.  English was full of these empty words--'friend' and 'real' and 'story' and 'change.' "   And "food."  A beep tells me dinner's fully nuked.  And "beautiful."  As in how a DJ describes every girl that takes the stage.  Can every girl be beautiful?  To someone?  Surprisingly, the answer to this question appears to be yes.  Even girls I would never let on my lap seem to have PLs who dote on them.   But just imagine it . . . if everyone were beautiful, then no one would be.  So, "beautiful," a word casing.  And "hot."  Don't get me started on "hot."

. . . Where was I?  I agree with Z that there's now a little better sense of community.  Some more hard info might be nice, but that'll come.  Anyway, I can't express disappointment when I haven't been contributing any myself.  As usual, I've been burying my posts instead of posting them.

. . . Like "Not Feeling It."  What happened to that?  I dunno.  I just wasn't feeling it, I guess.  So I didn't post it.  Truth be told, I didn't even write it.

. . . It's the economy, stupid (yes, I'm talking to myself again).  I thought that less money would mean fewer girls, which would mean a smaller, more concentrated talent pool, and more competition for less bucks would lead to higher mileage.  Oops!  Less money in the clubs has meant that for the girls I like, the clubs no longer have an advantage over Starbucks, and those girls are gone, leaving only the real stars, whom I don't patronize, and, uh, you know -- strippers.  And mileage?  Worse than before the crash, at most of my favorite places.

. . . Now I've written it.  It doesn't make me feel it.  So much for writing as therapy.  As Dr. Johnson (the original Rambler) said, only a blockhead writes for free.

    . . . FQQIF.

You're right that young people tend to have ADD and can barely fill up their 140 character Twitter limit, let alone write an entire paragraph. Whereas, I remember my grandfather talking to me for hours without stopping. Now it's my time to ramble like that.

    My Belated Ramble

… OK, I'm late. I somehow got it into my head that Ramble Day was the same as Groundhog Day, and I was planning to ramble today. Last night, I noticed I had a few emails from this site that rambles had already been posted. Darn. I guess that proves I'm another old guy.

… Accidents. Every PL wants them, so they can pretend they never had them. Every dancer tries to make them, so they can act disgusted when they happen. It's a crazy world. And then there is Orange County, where rumor has it two clubs that were for years the tamest clubs in Southern California are now hotbeds of full on UHM.

… Can you imagine, a PL and a dancer in the VIP room, having full-on sex, and afterwards, he says he didn't splooge, and she says that's good, because it is disgusting and un-gentlemanly?

… I've been reading usasexguide.info for entertainment value. It's like this site, but without friends or community, just hard info. They break the site down into regions, and within those regions, activities, like strip clubs, massage parlors, escorts and streetwalkers. It's mind-blowing. I realize that clubs are for guys who don't really want sex. Clubs are for guys who want to chat and cuddle. (At least in LA.)

… I know I'm getting old, because strip clubs don't interest me any more. I love strippers, but I hate clubs. A colleague recently said, "I want to go to a place where strippers hang out, that isn't a strip club, just because I like to watch them." I realized, yeah… me too.

… Not to get into politics, but it fascinates me that a guy like Newt Gingrich can be married three times. Power and money really must be the ultimate aphrodisiacs. Oh well, there goes my chance.

… You know who will make a zillion dollars? The first guy who opens a club for men over 40. No loud music, no barking DJs, no insulting drink hustle, no TVs… Instead, maybe a club where the sultry female DJ plays classic rock, old-school hip-hop, Latin and maybe even some jazz. The vibe is low-key, elegant and intimate, like a place where James Bond would hang out instead of a place where Tupac would hang out. Maybe even some dancers over 30 or 40. They could charge a cover of $40, and the place would be filled every night, as long as the dancers were hot and could hold a conversation. It would be a great place to chat and cuddle.

… I'm going to blow Benn's cover now: Don't believe his stuff about being fat and old. The man is a player. He looks a little like Sir Paul, if Sir Paul had been a beach bum. Benn is a little like Rodney Dangerfield, becoming wealthy and respected while claiming "he don't get no respect." Trust me, people, Benn's got game.

… I guess I have to comment on the Zbone 2.0 reboot: I love it. It's everything that Facebook is, without all those annoying people that I don't care about. Sorry to those of you who have sent me friend requests that I've blocked, but it is what it is. I can't block anyone on Facebook, because I would have to explain myself at work, or the next family dinner, or at the market. Here? Fuck it. If I don't know you personally, leave me the hell alone. God, it feels so great to say that. Next, I need to work on the people I know that I still don't want any part of. People say, "Lonely old man" as if that's a bad thing. I consider it an aspiration.

… Can a ramble be short?

… Let me explain something to the young people on this site: If you are a regular on a strip club web site, by definition, you are a hopeless, pathetic loser. Fortunately, that is also true if you are on a tech site, a political site, a shopping site, or pretty much anything else, so you are in good company. No matter what people say, real life is lived offline. I guarantee you the biggest players in the strip clubs are not on this web site or any other. On the Internet, no one call tell you're a dog. So what this site does is let us trade info, and pretend to be bigger dogs than we really are, but let's be clear here: We aren't fooling anyone. Especially the strippers.

… The strippers who have signed up for this site are smart business women. The smartest ones are those who will stay on this site when the buzz has quieted down, and mine this motherlode for all the PLs they can harvest.

… What is the difference between a dancer, a stripper and a whore? A dancer gets upset when a guy has an accident. A stripper carries wipes. A whore carries condoms. (And I say that with all due respect.)

… This is the first real ramble I've ever done, in that I don't have a point. It's truly a bunch of random thoughts that I haven't tried in any way to turn into a coherent whole. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

… Strip Clubs save marriages. I'm convinced. Instead of seeing a hooker, having an affair, or just leaving, they allow men (who are all dogs, don't fool yourselves) to have an essentially harmless outside sexual release. Let's face it: After age 25, guys deteriorate pretty quickly, even faster than women. I'll bet even George Clooney is pretty gross naked. Women look at men, and sex, as necessary evils… when they consider us necessary at all. The rest of the time, we are just evil. If you love your wife, do you really expect her to want to demean herself by sexing up your droopy, pasty, hairy ass? Ew! Why would you do that to her? Nope. And really, you all know your personality is just not that sparkling. When was the last time you said anything sexy, witty, or just kind to your spouse? (In her opinion, not yours.) It's better to go to a strip club where you can, for the price of admission, insert yourself into a room full of young lasses who will pretend to like your jokes, admire your physique, want your penis, and whisper dirty things into your ear. It's worth 100 bucks every week or so. Hell, it's worth a thousand if you've got it. But leave your wife out of it, she's got better things to do, she has seen you at your best, and she knows how far you've come. Best of all, it lets you practice being sexy, witty and kind. Don't squander it. Take that knowledge home and treat your wife nicely. She still won't fuck you, but maybe at least she won't leave you for a guy with more money and power.

… OK, I'm late. I somehow got it into my head that Ramble Day was the same as Groundhog Day, and I was planning to ramble today. Last night, I noticed I had a few emails from this site that rambles had already been posted. Darn. I guess that proves I'm another old guy.

Sax ... er er Teacher...you are still the best. This wasnt just a ramnle. It was a lesson in life..
Please take those dotted paragraphs one by one and make seperate forum topics out of them.. The PLs on here,( yes even the ones who make fun of us for being PLs even though they are all on here everyday) , will be entertained for hours trying to respond and then after posting something weak, wondering why no one responded.

FMIAF..... having cool strippers as part of my almost over life surely is not

Yeah, the code for the forum is really lacking. In fact, there are some really big problems in the forum. It's obvious the forum was like an after thought. There is a "like" plugin that might have that feature but I haven't checked it. I'm scared that the website is already too complicated to use and I don't need to be adding more features right now.

Z I think this is working out to be a very user friendly site. Adding more features wont make it difficult to use it would make it richer and more exciting. Please don't underestimate average Joe/Jane's ability to learn new things.

RAMBLE ALERT! I know this is probably mostly for the PL's but I couldn't help getting in on the action as my mind mostly works in the essence of one long ramble...this could be why I'm an insomniac...I mean to sleep but one thought leads to some loosely associate other thought and before I know it I'm off on some crazy tangent...and now I get to share such tangents OH MY!
ANNNNNNND (my need to ramble) might just come from the fact that in an effort to multi-task I made a drinking game out of studying for a huge test tomorrow so that I could have a little fun, visit friends, and (hopefully) not fail this test....
BUT....I'm so super excited for my upcoming trip that I probably check this board more than I do my facebook now! whooop whoooop ZBONE is truly coming up in the world! Us dancers have went from being completely oblivious, to aware, to monitoring closely (but not saying anything) to piping in our random two cents, to now being completely included, and I must say I enjoy it....the ONLY downside is that I feel like we have kind of censored you guys...yeah we could always see what you said before but there was that barrier...we were voyeurs to your world, and now we are a part of it...as well as managers and DJ's...therefore your offhand comments aren't so offhand anymore...but I feel like it bridges the gap a little more...and there's still always that choice for you guys to divulge your identity or not...
this board honestly has been such a blessing to me, as it keeps me connected in some ways when I'm feeling homesick and also without it, this whole carmen con would have NEVER happened (to which I am so eternally grateful to those who got the ball rolling-you know who you are- and those who gave it momentum)
ANYWAYS...I'm so super excited and even nervous to get back on my old stage...excited because no matter how long I'm gone VIP will always be home to me...nervous because there's soooo many new girls, and so few of my old co-workers that I'll almost feel like a new girl all over again (which is exciting in a sense as well)...
another plus about this board is that I already feel a sense of camaraderie with some of the girls...maddux, cASSandra, and felicia... although I've never met them, I feel like I already know and like them from their online personalities...full of positivity and beauty...I'm excited to work alongside them...
So much has changed...maybe geographically/demographically...but I know you guys aren't so much in the "dubstep" "wooooomp womp" music...but really that's all I dance to anymore because that is the "in thing" here in memphis...they are still months behind on the new thing...but they LOVE the dubstep...I think mainly the allure is that is has that hardcore feeling of gangster rap without actually being gangster rap...which any classy club knows is a no-no...although I do miss the old rock I used to dance to...there was more passion, more feeling...more of a story worth telling or expressing in it...danzig, puscifer, the cult, depeche mode...oh yeah...and I'm never allowed to dance to slow music anymore so I'm actually looking forward to my dayshift at VIP to hit up those slow sexy favorites of mine from before...
One difference I've noticed (which could be geographical or could be from non-alcoholic to full bar club) is that regulars in Cali buy dances...and usually from a multitude of girls which is great...whereas here in the midwest the "regulars" are more like bar regulars...they never buy dances, and barely tip...which tends to lead to them being ignored by entertainers, which makes me wonder why they are regulars in the first place...as they could get cheaper drinks elsewhere...food for thought...any insight as to why? maybe its the free entertainment....
We also on my end have gone from topless to bikini dances only...which seems to help and hurt at the same time...Cali customers seem to be all about the most for their money...while here (where the income is significantly less) we charge more...some girls still charge $40 a song for a bikini dance...I can't do that with good conscience so I do 1/2 price dances all the time...but still not even topless...and these girls still have a profound sense of entitlement...I'm almost grateful to Cali for keeping me humble...I think I might have read it here...but really that $150 half hour of a dance could easily have been an entire days work for the person spending it on us... that alone deserves some appreciation...no it doesn't mean I'm going to offer extras, but it definitely means I want to put forth the effort to give someone a good dance, to keep focused and to keep the fantasy alive...
well I think this is probably long enough, I don't blame anyone who stopped reading halfway through...if you made it this far I applaud you...much love to all I hope you have a wonderful night, I can't wait to see some familiar faces and become acquainted with new ones next month MUAHHHHHHH!!!!

Wow, just wow... Carmen, to answer your question, I think it is the same at topless bars here in LA. Regulars spend very little money, and hang out at the bar all night. I don't know how the entertainers survive. I've always supposed that many are making outside arrangements, though I have no evidence to back it up. At some topless clubs, the dancers are making less than minimum wage in tips. There is no way they can live on that! Yet they all seem happy and like to chat up the regulars. I've never been a regular at one of those clubs, but there has to be more going on than meets the eye. Welcome to Rambleville!

lolll Oh NO WORRIES Lumrich, to me that is one of the best things about the Champagne room! Is that I get to provide my own soundtrack! I usually bring cd's with me of music that I like and I try to organize them by type (i.e. rock, slow n sexy etc) I'm always up for requests as well, so if you have some songs that you would love to hear during a dance please be sure to let me know in advance and I'll make sure to burn them on a CD to enhance the C.R. experience!

I do believe this is the case to a certain extent (I've lurked here for a while, this is a new name).   There is definitely less of a public exchange of information on this board than there was before.  Fewer (and much less explicit) reviews and whatnot.   It has become more of a social site for a handful of folks who post regularly and a sales site for a few chosen clubs with member advocates.
I do believe the greater dancer presence is a large part of this.  Dancers have always been here, but it was rare that they commented other than to say "Im working from 7-2"   But now that they do interact, customers want to use this forum to interact with them without an exchange of money.   The fact that dancers are now actively participating has changed the dynamic and I do beleive there is a reluctance for customers to be honest about dancers for fear of offending/alienating the dancers who do participate.

Allright the fewer reviews is a bad thing but the less explicit ones are a God send.  Z said it himself LE watches this sight as does club management so keep the details out just say it was a damn good dance and if someone wants specifics that you know then send it in a message.  I think anyone that posts anything to do with touching a girls tits or even her ass is an idiot, this goes double for any dumbass girl that says its okay to touch my tits in here.  This is a public site and all they have done is said hey LE go check out this girl/club.  I mean the definition of prostitution is trading sexual acts for money, not having sex for money but sexual acts.  I think the new dynamic is awesome it allows PLs to see and chat with a girl for free prior to going in to the club.  It also has opened up some of us to clubs other than the one or 2 we would frequent because we find a girl on here that we find appealing and will venture out to her club.  No I am not a cop but I am someone who doesnt want to be in the club when its gets raided because some dumbass couldnt keep his mouth shut and have a little discretion.

I agree as to the overkill reviews and maybe explicit was the wrong choice of words.  But the reviews tend to be fewer and mostly mild in nature.  I don't need a "Dancer X did this to me" review, but some info as to what dancers don't deliver on their promises or treat a customer badly would be nice.   There has definitely been a reluctance to comment on dancers negatively because a few post here regularly.

Señor Caliente is right about the definition. You'd think doing porn is illegal because people are having sex for money, but it's not. The reason is because it is a performance, not for sexual the sexual act itself.

    Lapdancing is a performance too.
