... It's hard to believe that it's been 12 years since the last Rambleday. Rambling is a fine art and I haven't gotten any better at it in the last 12 years.
... Zbone.com is fun again for me. It's been a while since I've had fun on my own website. Yes, there the occasional bug to fix, or some African or Chinese spammer/hacker trying to mess up our fun. But for the most part, it's been a very positive experience for me. What I was missing was the feeling of a community again. It doesn't hurt that hot dancers can now post pictures.
... I think I've reverted back to my origins with my strip club outings. I like just sitting back and watching the stage show from far away. I've burned out on lap dances. Maybe I'll go through my entire cycle again from scratch. On second thought, I don't think I can survive another round.
... All this talk of clubs closing has made me think about the economy. Back in 2006 or so, I noticed that many dancers that I knew were getting mortgages without even having to prove they had a job. About 4 dancers I knew even had multiple mortgages and one girl had 3 homes and one had 4 homes. They told me the brokers filled out the applications for them and lied about their income. I remember being asked if I needed a mortgage from players many times playing poker at casinos. I should have been able to see the mortgage collapse coming a mile away.
... Speaking of collapses, I've been around the industry long enough to see that most boob jobs turn into weird shapes, or simply break over a long period of time. With only a few exceptions, after about 10 years, almost all boob jobs go south. Then the options are, either to re-do the boob job, remove it and have pan cake flaps, or do nothing. Most usually pick the first option. I haven't been around long enough to see what happens after the second 10 years. I'm guessing it's not good.
... Recently, I was told that people who are involved in serious pole dancing competitions do not want the competition associated with strip clubs or strippers in any way. Apparently, many are ex-professional dancers who have never stripped and they do not want to be associated with the adult industry. They are also trying to legitimize their sport so that it can be in the Olympics or shown on network TV. Maybe I'm biased but this rubs me the wrong way somehow.
... It's amazing how people are so against anything to do with strip clubs. A nearby church is protesting the opening of a new nude club in Torrance. Never mind that there is already a topless club near the church. Forget that the new club had to be approved by the city and get all its permits before opening. Church members are vowing that they will picket the club when it opens. When religious people picketed Imperial Showgirls a few years ago, they even brought their kids with them. Quality time with your kids. That's what going to church is all about.
... It's great that some people have so much free time that they can picket a strip club. If I had that much free time, I could make enough money to open up a strip club. Maybe I could be lucky enough to get a church to picket my club so that I can get free advertisement on TV that would normally cost tens of thousands of dollars. Or maybe I could pay the church directly to picket my club. Then the church makes money, and I get free advertisement on TV. Win-Win.
. . . I am so pleased that there are rambles on this site -- for two reasons. First, it was nice to see a respected PL tradition honored. Second, if I didn't have these examples to follow I would have put the dots on the wrong end of the paragraph. Like so . . .
. . . I feel the world is passing me by. As for my co-ramblers, any of you want to take a guess at our median age? The young folks aren't rambling. They're on their Twitterers, or whatever the thing is that makes a Tweet, doing the opposite of rambling.
. . . Another marker of age: I'm a little concerned about the tattoo issue. Not like the fake boobs . . . not how bad they're gonna look in ten years, but how bad they look right now. Of course, I do appreciate any steps dancers take that make it easier for me to rule them off my dance card . . . like approaching me as soon as I walk in, or hanging little metal "keep off" rings and don't-dads on their nipples, or leaving their thong on during their stage show . . . but they're beginning to max out. The dance card winds up empty. I haven't been to a club since last year. (Okay, Dec. 30.)
. . . But I cannot escape Lapland. I was at Ikea recently, looking for CD shelves, when I was distracted by the pots and pans. Among the choices: Favorit and Skanka.
. . . But there you go -- CD shelves. Who still buys CDs? Speaking of music: Two songs apropos for an SC stage show but that I haven't heard in a club and doubt I ever will: "Fembot" and "Don't Fucking Tell Me What to Do" by Robyn from her Body Talk CD. url? heh-heh.
. . . My drinking's killing me. Have you heard the latest? Fruit juice is bad for you. Fortunately, I can't get that in most clubs. I just keep it simple: Coke or Sprite. As I say, too many choices as it is. The clubs do try to simplify things with their mandatory minimums. Does Ecstasy in Santa Ana still insist on popping off the tops of both drinks they make you buy?
. . . Keep up with the world? I can't even keep up with my ATF. I don't see her on any recent RTRC. Could she have quit? This could throw my whole clubbing year into a cock hat. Is there a stripper out there who would like to sell me some dances? Like 50 or so ;) ? . . . (No, not you.)
. . . I do like the looks of that girl Cami who is pimping herself on this site. Fortunately, I take it she works at one of those low-mileage Camelot clubs, which is going to save me some money. I'd just as soon patronize the low-mileage clubs closer to home.
. . . History: I enjoy reading science-fiction books whose future is our present day. In 1968, John Brunner in Stand on Zanzibar predicted that in 2010, all the sexiest chicks would be in the employ of large companies for the carnal entertainment of their workforce. It appears this may have come to pass. At least, I'm not seeing them in the clubs. (I'm still looking though.)
. . . I like this new version of the site. Not being a Facebook user, I've had a bit of a learning curve, and I still don't really understand a lot of this. I'm dutifully okaying all my friend requests, even though I have no idea what a "friend" is or does. A young dancer friend tried to explain it to me. It didn't make any sense. I don't know if that's because her explanation made no sense or because the concept makes no sense.
. . . The Future: Goon Squad again: "Rebecca was an academic star. Her new book was on the phenomenon of word casings, a term she'd invented for words that no longer had any meaning outside quotation marks. English was full of these empty words--'friend' and 'real' and 'story' and 'change.' " And "food." A beep tells me dinner's fully nuked. And "beautiful." As in how a DJ describes every girl that takes the stage. Can every girl be beautiful? To someone? Surprisingly, the answer to this question appears to be yes. Even girls I would never let on my lap seem to have PLs who dote on them. But just imagine it . . . if everyone were beautiful, then no one would be. So, "beautiful," a word casing. And "hot." Don't get me started on "hot."
. . . Where was I? I agree with Z that there's now a little better sense of community. Some more hard info might be nice, but that'll come. Anyway, I can't express disappointment when I haven't been contributing any myself. As usual, I've been burying my posts instead of posting them.
. . . Like "Not Feeling It." What happened to that? I dunno. I just wasn't feeling it, I guess. So I didn't post it. Truth be told, I didn't even write it.
. . . It's the economy, stupid (yes, I'm talking to myself again). I thought that less money would mean fewer girls, which would mean a smaller, more concentrated talent pool, and more competition for less bucks would lead to higher mileage. Oops! Less money in the clubs has meant that for the girls I like, the clubs no longer have an advantage over Starbucks, and those girls are gone, leaving only the real stars, whom I don't patronize, and, uh, you know -- strippers. And mileage? Worse than before the crash, at most of my favorite places.
. . . Now I've written it. It doesn't make me feel it. So much for writing as therapy. As Dr. Johnson (the original Rambler) said, only a blockhead writes for free.
. . . FQQIF.

... Instead of picketing strip clubs in my free time, I'd rather spend it inside the club. It's much more fun that way. I wonder if the picketers have ever stepped foot in a club? How would they know what to picket against if they've never been? For all they know, we could be having bible study with the dancers. ... Anyone know of SC made from closed down churches? Ive heard of clubs and restaurants, but not SCs. ... I don't get the SCs that serve full blown meals. The last thing I'd want to do is get a dance after eating so much. I'd rather go to hooters, since I am not getting a dance after eating a full meal. ... I also don't get paying for dances only to eat pussy. Your the one paying, shouldn't you be getting gratified instead of you gratifying the dancer? Unless you get orgasms from your mouth like that porno in the 70s, why would you do it? ... I do like getting dances from porn stars or former porn stars. It's almost like a dream cum true. But fuck, if they aren't a regular dancer, a dance is![]()

. I'd rather spend that on rounds with my ATF, since I know the dance will be good! ... where was I going with this? oh yeah... it's a ramble....

[snip] … What is the difference between a dancer, a stripper and a whore? A dancer gets upset when a guy has an accident. A stripper carries wipes. A whore carries condoms. (And I say that with all due respect.)
You left out slut. Sluts loves "accidents" on them, don't carry wipes or condoms and doesn't ask for money. Yes, sometimes they work at strip clubs just for the action.

That would be so cool looking. Imagine if Deja Vu bought the bankrupt Crystal Cathedral in Orange county and made it into a giant strip club. Great ramble Manual!
Hey, how come I can't "iike" your comment?

Yeah, the code for the forum is really lacking. In fact, there are some really big problems in the forum. It's obvious the forum was like an after thought. There is a "like" plugin that might have that feature but I haven't checked it. I'm scared that the website is already too complicated to use and I don't need to be adding more features right now.

Wow, just wow... Carmen, to answer your question, I think it is the same at topless bars here in LA. Regulars spend very little money, and hang out at the bar all night. I don't know how the entertainers survive. I've always supposed that many are making outside arrangements, though I have no evidence to back it up. At some topless clubs, the dancers are making less than minimum wage in tips. There is no way they can live on that! Yet they all seem happy and like to chat up the regulars. I've never been a regular at one of those clubs, but there has to be more going on than meets the eye. Welcome to Rambleville!

BUT....I'm so super excited for my upcoming trip that I probably check this board more than I do my facebook now! whooop whoooop ZBONE is truly coming up in the world! Us dancers have went from being completely oblivious, to aware, to monitoring closely (but not saying anything) to piping in our random two cents, to now being completely included, and I must say I enjoy it....the ONLY downside is that I feel like we have kind of censored you guys
I do believe this is the case to a certain extent (I've lurked here for a while, this is a new name). There is definitely less of a public exchange of information on this board than there was before. Fewer (and much less explicit) reviews and whatnot. It has become more of a social site for a handful of folks who post regularly and a sales site for a few chosen clubs with member advocates.
I do believe the greater dancer presence is a large part of this. Dancers have always been here, but it was rare that they commented other than to say "Im working from 7-2" But now that they do interact, customers want to use this forum to interact with them without an exchange of money. The fact that dancers are now actively participating has changed the dynamic and I do beleive there is a reluctance for customers to be honest about dancers for fear of offending/alienating the dancers who do participate.

Allright the fewer reviews is a bad thing but the less explicit ones are a God send. Z said it himself LE watches this sight as does club management so keep the details out just say it was a damn good dance and if someone wants specifics that you know then send it in a message. I think anyone that posts anything to do with touching a girls tits or even her ass is an idiot, this goes double for any dumbass girl that says its okay to touch my tits in here. This is a public site and all they have done is said hey LE go check out this girl/club. I mean the definition of prostitution is trading sexual acts for money, not having sex for money but sexual acts. I think the new dynamic is awesome it allows PLs to see and chat with a girl for free prior to going in to the club. It also has opened up some of us to clubs other than the one or 2 we would frequent because we find a girl on here that we find appealing and will venture out to her club. No I am not a cop but I am someone who doesnt want to be in the club when its gets raided because some dumbass couldnt keep his mouth shut and have a little discretion.

I agree as to the overkill reviews and maybe explicit was the wrong choice of words. But the reviews tend to be fewer and mostly mild in nature. I don't need a "Dancer X did this to me" review, but some info as to what dancers don't deliver on their promises or treat a customer badly would be nice. There has definitely been a reluctance to comment on dancers negatively because a few post here regularly.
