ENTER SAM PHILLIPS - Anyone who knows Sam Phillips in the professional sense knows she's always running a little behind schedule. In fact, she never fails to remind me of the silly white rabbit, scurrying about and screaming, "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!" The only difference is that when Sam quotes Lewis Carroll, it sounds so sexy. Naturally, when I decided to bring Sam along with me to cover the 1999 Video Software Dealers Association, the West Coast Video Show, and AVN Adult Expo, I told her to arrive at 9:00 sharp, knowing well that she wouldn't show her face until just before 10:00, when the convention actually begins. God bless her, though, she's one busy lady! "Dude," she sighed as she walked through the doors of the Los Angeles Convention Center. "You'll never believe what happened to me!" Before she could take another breath, I simply smiled and said, "Relax, Sammy. The show doesn't start for another five minutes." Ah, the day was off to a good start. Fortunately for both of us, it stayed that way.

MINGLING WITH THE STARS - The highlight, however, was Sam's union with porn star and radio host Ed Powers. Ed's CBS Radio show airs just before The Sheena and Sam Show every Sunday morning on 97.1 the FM Talk Station. "I love my little Eddie!" cooed Sam as she cradled his head and I took yet another photo. Sam's "little Eddie" then proceeded to show us his favorite dildos being sold at the convention, and gave us both free passes to get into Hustler's web site. Incidentally, Ed appears on the cover of this month's AVN Magazine in a send up shot of Austin Powers, Man of Mystery. Brilliant!
