Ex-Penthouse Pet Joins Cable Access Veteran On LA Radio
Penthouse Pet Co-Hosts LA Radio Talk
Show
Penthouse Pet Sam Phillips is supplementing
her income as a model and movie actress these days by sharing hosting duties
with cable access favorite Sheena Metal (late of "Sheena Metal's Freakin'
Rock Review") on a late night radio show heard in the Los Angeles area.
Appropriately titled "The Sheena and Sam Show", the duo act as ringmasters
for a weekly broadcast on the local 97.1 FM Talk Station each Saturday and
Sunday in the overnight slot of 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. Phillips (right), who was
featured in the June 1993 edition of Penthouse Magazine, has also appeared
in the movies "Phantasm II" and "Weekend at Bernie's II" as well as regular
appearances on LA radio station XTRA Sports Radio.
Sam's on-air co-host, Sheena Metal, is a bit of a local celebrity having
served as the hostess of her own popular cable access show in LA as well
as previously co-hosting "The Nastyman Show". In her remaining free time,
Metal also fronts her own band, Sheena Metal's Beer Bong, an almost satirical
send up of the many heavy metal garage bands that populate the club scene
in Los Angeles.
The format of the "Sheena and Sam" show is deceptively simple: two women
talking in a very casual, almost locker room-like, style. Subjects of previous
shows have included discussions of penis size (Phillips is a self-professed
fan of guys with smaller pricks) to humorous discussions of anal sex, complete
with listeners calling in to profess of their own experiences in sodomy.
Currently a weekend-only show, the "girls" recently filled in for the week
in an overnight time slot of vacationing jocks John and Jeff.
